The Specialty Training at Rural Sites-Dermatology (STARS-D) grant program helps rural primary care providers expand their skills in dermatology and better care for patients with skin conditions. The program trains providers to assess and manage dermatology issues locally. By increasing the level of care available in rural clinics, STARS-D reduces long travel times and long waits for dermatological appointments, allowing patients to receive timely, high-quality care close to home.
